Gators shutout Rebs 4-0; capture series

Florida clinched their first Southeastern Conference series and appear to have found another weekend starter in the process, as freshman southpaw Danny Young and reliever Johnny Magliozzi combined on a four-hit shutout in the Gators 4-0 victory over Ole Miss on a beautiful Easter Sunday.

Gators rally past FSU 7-3

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Sophomore Briana Little (Middleburg, Fla.) ripped a walk-off grand slam over the left-center scoreboard in the bottom of the eighth inning to break a 3-3 tie between the No. 3 Gators and Florida State Seminoles Wednesday evening, giving Florida softball a 7-3 victory in front of a school-record crowd of 2,443 at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.

Carmichael spins Gators to 4-1 victory

Freshman Jay Carmichael got the news from Florida head coach Kevin O’Sullivan on Wednesday that he would get the Friday night start in the Gators conference opener against Kentucky. While he didn’t get the decision, Carmichael provided a much needed lift in Florida’s 4-1 win and the Gators appear to have found a Friday starter.

Defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd got measured, met with some scouts and then left Florida Field. The rest of his workout will happen in 10 days. Florida's top draft prospect missed the majority of the school's Pro Day on Tuesday.
