Monday was one of my favorite days of the calendar year, as the first full day of pitchers and catchers were in the books. For the next month and a half, I’ll chronicle spring action with a daily report from a different camp. Since I’m writing from the Sunshine State, I’ll start the rotation with the Grapefruit League.

His thick-rimmed glasses are a nod to rock 'n' roll icon Buddy Holly. He's a glass into a bottle of red wine and a few tracks into Bruce Springsteen's "Greatest Hits" by the time the media reaches his office for the post-game chat. And he values his own gut instincts and intuition in making decision as though they were a set of comprehensive statistics in a scouting report.

I suppose that we could title this, "The Pappas Report" goes digital. George, Jennifer, and I got together last week after a baseball media opp and recorded some thoughts on the present state of the Gators roughly 10 days out from the kickoff of the Georgia game. ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Rays got little sleep Monday night. They were on the wrong end of a dominant pitching performance by Colby Lewis and typical offensive production from a very good Texas Rangers lineup, dropping Game 3 of the American League Division Series in their own building, 4-3.
